I remember seeing an interview with Jewel while I was flipping through the TV channels, and she commented about how she thought she sounded like Kermit when she sang the line "Who will save your soul?" I disagree; something about the tone sounds desperate, almost worried, as if she's begging the listener to pay attention to her lyrics, which fits this song perfectly.

It took me a while to rate this song, for it's almost too beautiful to confine to a rating system. I really love Jewel's vocals, and even though my favorite song by her ("You Were Meant for Me") isn't in the book at all, I'm glad that this was (but it's not a part of the main 1001).
