I have recently been listening to covers of this song, but this is the first time in years that I've heard the original, and I'm not sure that I like it too much. Though the instrumental is great, the vocals are too harsh and heavy for me to truly enjoy both them and the lyrics as well.
The chorus is simple, and the guitar part fits in well; the drummer is great as well. This song is pretty popular as a cover choice, and an excellent acapella version of it was done on the TV show The Sing-Off. Perhaps if a different singer was at the head of this, I would like it more, but I just can't bring myself to it.
