The only member of Guns N' Roses that I personally like is Slash. That aside, the lead singer really works his ass off in this song: his rough vocals are pushed to the limit over and over, forcing him to use several different techniques. It's hard not to admire him for the amount of skill he shows here. Also, Slash's guitar solo truly shines, as expected.
I was quite surprised when I saw that this song wasn't one of the main 1001. I think that this is their best song, though I know many would disagree. Nonetheless, "Welcome to the Jungle" is most certainly worth listening to.
"Jungle/ Welcome to the jungle, watch it bring you to your/ knees, knees/ In the jungle/ Welcome to the jungle/ Feel my, my/ my serpentine."
